Ruma Roka and her journey beyond sounds [Idea Caravan]

When an idea takes hold, nothing can stop it! - Stephen Richards

When it strikes the right chord, there is definitely no going back.

Firstly, thank you Indiblogger and TedEx for making such amazing videos accessible to all of us. Secondly, a big thank you to all the speakers in the videos, who makes me say - Wao! What a work!

There is Ruma Roka who is doing extraordinary by helping the deaf. She feels that learning should never stop. A simple idea to learn sign language and help those in need drives her life, now. Then there is Cynthiya Koenig who empathized with the pain of women who carry water on their heads and cover kilometers everyday. Christian Sarkar with an innovative low-cust housing solution, Neil Harbisson who has designed an “artificial” eye. There is also a research scholar who wants to put an end to a disease which takes our loved ones awa - cancer. Hats off to the great thoughts, the ideas, the courage and the great work!
Let's talk about the video which drives me to do something out of my life.

Ruma Roka and her journey beyond sounds...

Deaf are not dumb. Watch this video and you'll know why am I saying this. Ruma Roka and Noida Deaf Society are working towards helping people with hearing difficulties and making them as employable as a person with “normal abilities”. A thought of helping out the needy drives her life. I second her point when she says that there are field where the work of differently-abled people is productive and that's where we should strive for them to be.

Big Change can happen with a small thought, a perspective, or just by thinking differently.
Ideas are no ones monopoly. They have the power to change tomorrow. Be it about making such differently abled people ready to face life with confidence or making this earth greener, all it takes is an Idea!

Ideas are everywhere. Indiblogger is an idea, TedEx is a Idea, this blog post is an idea... A simple belief in existence of an idea or a thought is enough to change the stride of today. All it needs is that one step from your side; like Ruma took.

Pond's White Beauty BB+ Fairness Cream - Review

Finally the review of the Pond's White Beauty BB+ Fairness Review is coming out of drafts. Really sorry for the delay guys!

I used Pond's BB+ cream all through summer and found it a good deal. The Cream is SPF 30 PA++ protection and is specially designed for the Indian skin. Its called the "first All-in-One BB+ Fairness Cream". Lets know more about it.

What catches your attention when you first look at the cream? For me its the packaging!
When it comes to packaging of Ponds White Beauty BB+ Cream - I loved it! It comes in a beautiful looking sleek tube, easy to carry in your bag.

The BB cream has a good texture, its thick and it spreads smooth on my skin. I have a fair skin with time to time breakouts and blackheads every now and then (Hate that!). This cream hides and softens them over a period.

I have a fair skin and Ponds BB cream blends well with my skin tone and gives it a fresh look. It doesn't feel itchy or oily. Usually Ponds creams have this really nice and soft fragrance but the BB cream has very little.

After applying, I am usually out for about 10-12 hours and re-apply after 7-8 hrs. You can re-apply as per your skin type. I have a dry skin and this cream is certainly not for oily. If you have a oily skin you would need a touch up twice as mine.

Its a single shade foundation and would work wonder for medium complexions and little dusky skin tones!
The tube might look expensive but the cream is not. The tube you see in the pictures above is of 18g and worth 125 INR.

I am definitely gonna buy it again. I suggest you go for it if you are not already in love with some other BB cream. However, this one's worth it! :)
Its available in all the stores near you. Do let me know in comments if you have used it or if you plan to do so :)

Note: Since it was my first ever BB cream I was not in a position to compare it with other BB creams available in the market. The views are my own and unbiased.

Appreciate what you have or it will be gone.

Not everyday you get someone who does something for you. Someone, who would spend nights to talk to you; spend his time to pamper you; travels distance to meet you halfway; comes to your rescue when you get stuck; love you like no one else will ever do.
If you have such someone, grab them with both the hands and never let them go. If you do a mistake say sorry, do things which make situations right, apologise even when you are right, value the time you have with them, value their sacrifice, you yourself compromise. Because one day when you get up and don't find them by your side it will be your mistake and not theirs. You didn't value and they deserved better.
This is for that someone I value the most in life. The one I never wana go away.
If you are reading this, I just want to say - You are Special. Everything to me.

"Chahe jo tumhe poore dil se
Milta hai woh mushkil se
Aisa jo koi kahin hai
Bus woh hi sabse haseen hai.
Us haath ko tum thaam lo
Woh meherbaan, Kal ho na ho."

Jad Se Judein - a Beautiful Campaign (L'Oreal Fall Repair 3X)

After the successful launch of the 'Go Back In Time' video (Read about it here), L'Oreal has finally launched the 'Stay Rooted' Jad Se Judein song and it is sung by none other than - Mohit Chauhan.

"Jad Se Judein" is a heartwarming song, narrating the story of 3 people - a student in search of her teacher, a granddaughter who makes a small and simple sacrifice for her grandmother and 2 friends who reconnect at a place they call their own.

The Jad Se Judein song takes you back to your roots and makes you remember that person who shaped you, those in your life who had a role in making you who you are today – but those who’ve unfortunately been forgotten today.
Do you have someone whom you would love to go back in time and thank? L'Oreal and I hope that you reconnect with them. We hope that you’ll “STAY ROOTED”.

Do watch the video and be a part of "Jad Se Judein" :)
Its indeed, Lovely! <3

Workout in Fashion with Jabong

Turn up the heat and get toned, say bye to oversized tshirts and shorts.
What happens when you add fashion to your monotonous gym clothes? Isn't that adding fashion to it would give you a reason to hit the gym more often?

How to stay fashionable while working out? The first point is Comfort. Workout clothes should repel sweat and dry quickly. Synthetic materials are best, breathe well and fit snugly. When it comes to hair, keep them back off your face.
Wearing layered tank top or playing with bright colors is here to stay this summer. Go for Black and Neon combination and you will never go wrong!
Don't forget to keep that cool looking water bottle with you and stay hydrated!

Working out isn't just functional anymore, it has taken a fashion foot forward!
Yes comfortable and easy to breathe in but not unfitting!
Legging can be flattering. Tank top would compliment your torso in making; shorts and summer - best!

Here are some of the options for you to workout fashionably!

Reebok Fitness T Shirt - Black
Flattering and comfortable
The black color always makes you look slim, take it as an aspiration when you hit the gym!

Nike Tempo (P) Multi Shorts & 3/4Ths
Summer and shorts are the best partner one can have. Super comfortable, free and stylish!
The piece above goes well with the Reebok TShirt, isn't it?

For those who love to swim and not gym; this pink swim suit is not just attractive but a boon to show off those curves you are finally getting into!

When you go running these will be your companion other than the shoes you'll find below.

Nike Black Shorts Shorts & 3/4Ths

Prestitia Turquiose Blue Sports Bra
No matter what you wear on a day, this piece of clothing has to be the best. No matter how expensive it is or how far you go to buy it.
The one here is easy to buy and affordable to make your workout sessions fashionable not just from outside but from inside as well.

Now I was really confused when it came to shoes; I am always. Both the shoes below are designed in such a way that you not just look stylish but love working out in them.

PumaAxis Ind. White Running Shoes

Nike Wmns Flex 2012 Rn Black Running Shoes

Tie up your hair in a pony tail. Its best when you have zero intervention when you shed kilos on that tread mill!
Blue because, its the in color this season!

Don't forget to carry a cool water bottle with you to keep everything at ease!
stay fashionable!
